Lean Portland will be speaking about our volunteer work with reuse nonprofits at the upcoming Association of Oregon Recyclers (AOR) Spring Forum. The event is titled “Reuse Systems and Organizations in Action,” and will be held at McMenamins Kennedy School on March 21st from 11:30am-4:30pm. The event will highlight Oregon’s reuse systems that help reduce material waste, and explain how reuse organizations are advancing waste reduction practices.
In the presentation, Brion Hurley will be explaining the basics of Lean, while Mike Alfoni from The Rebuilding Center and John Ashcraft from Free Geek will discuss their lean journey.
Other speakers include the City of Portland, Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, ReClaimIT!, The Renewal Workshop, Salvage Works, ScrapPDX, and Washington County Library of Things.
